| This afternoon Tim Henman
deservedly took the Masters Title in Paris beating Pavel of Rumania in three
straight sets after a week of playing inspired tennis at Roland Garros
during which he beat Grosjean, Kuerten then Federer, this years Wimbledon Champion,
followed by a straight sets victory in the semi-final over Andy Roddick,
current World Men's Number 1. After a difficult year returning from injury
with insufficient match play at the beginning of the season, Tim has ended
the year exhibiting the form of which he is capable when both physically and
match fit and went through this tournament without dropping a single set. On 10 November Tim will be at the University of Bath opening 8
indoor GreenSet GRAND PRIX Acrylic tournament courts installed by DOE for
the new LTA Tennis Academy "state of the art" tennis facility
being based at Bath, already a centre of tennis and sporting excellence. DOE
have built up a strong working relationship with the University of Bath and
as Ged Roddy, Director of Sport at the University says: "We've renewed
an old and trusted friendship in creating this performance tennis
environment by again selecting DOE to provide our court surfaces. DOE first
became involved with us when they constructed our 8 outdoor courts for the
European Youth Olympic Games here in 1995. Two years later they
installed our first indoor courts and are now back with us again for this
third and most ambitious stage of our programme pursuing tennis excellence.
